My Thoughts On The Venustas Women’s Heated FELLEX® Hooded Puffer Jacket 7.4V.
I must admit, I was pleasantly surprised by this heated jacket. Initially, I had reservations about how comfortable a jacket with a battery pack and heating coils would be, but this jacket exceeded my expectations. Lightweight and flexible, it molds effortlessly to my body and is super comfortable. It has a sleek design and feels well crafted with water-resistant nylon, metal zippers, and nice stretchy thumbhole cuffs that do not pull on my hands but feel perfect. I really like that they added a soft fuzzy warm material to the inside of the hood and the top layer of the pockets. It adds that extra layer of coziness.
Whether I'm out for a brisk morning walk, tackling day hikes, or embarking on snowshoeing adventures, this jacket has been preforming great! It provides warmth without compromising on mobility. Where this jacket truly shines is during camping trips or any outdoor activity where prolonged periods of standing or sitting are involved, as it eliminates the need to rely solely on body movement to generate heat. With just a simple click of a button, whether I'm flipping burgers over a camp grill or enjoying a serene moment in nature, I can instantly be toasty warm.
Warmth:
I was really impressed by the warmth provided by this heated jacket and absolutely loved how cozy this jacket kept me on my outdoor adventures. It was like having a personal heater wherever I went! It wasn't overly hot but the jacket added just enough warmth to take that cold bite out. Even while sitting on the chairlift while snowboarding with it, I remained comfortably toasty warm. As someone who tends to be always cold, having a jacket that heats up right away, was nice. Unlike most of my jackets, where I need to start moving to generate heat, it was a pleasant change to simply press a button and then instantly feel some warmth.
This feature is especially handy for lazy days sipping hot chocolate after a hike or snowshoeing adventure. This heated jacket is great for chilling around camp during cold days or nights while camping. I really see that the heating feature can be absolutely amazing for someone sitting on the bleachers during a sporting event. Looking back, I wish I had this jacket a few years ago when I was on crutches after tearing my ACL. Having a heated jacket to help keep me warm when I wasn't moving very fast hobbling around with crutches after knee surgery would have been super handy.
The six heating zones, including the chest, pockets, upper back, and waist, kept my core body temp toasty but not too hot, and I loved that I could switch between Low, Medium, and High settings depending on how cold it was. And when I got a bit too warm while snowshoeing and hiking, it was easy to just turn off the heat with a simple button press. Even without the heating element turned on, this jacket did a stellar job of keeping me warm just with the construction of the jacket itself. On high heat the Venestus Heated jacket can get up to 131℉/55℃ and on medium the jacket is 113℉/45℃ and on the low setting the heat is 100℉/38℃. The heating element regulates itself so it never feels that hot but is very nice and comfortable!
This jacket kept me super cozy and warm in 30-degree temperatures but I would recommend opting for a different jacket in windy conditions or in freezing temperatures below 18 degrees. Alternatively, for temperatures below 18 degrees, consider layering this jacket with an outer shell. Despite this jacket not being ideal for extreme temperatures and weather, this jacket has quickly become my everyday go-to choice for chilly morning walks in temperatures often ranging from 25 to 50 degrees.
Flexibility and Movement:
For some reason, I was expecting a jacket with a battery pack and heating elements built into it to be stiff and heavy and this was not the case. The jacket was light and flexible and the battery pack sits in a pocket that is conveniently out of the way. Even while snowboarding with this jacket I did not feel restricted or feel the battery pack while riding. When sitting down to strap in with my snowboard bindings the battery pack wasn't noticeable or in the way. When snowboarding I really enjoyed how bendable this jacket was. It didn't feel stiff or restrictive at all, allowing me to move freely and without constraint.
I found the thumbhole cuffs on this jacket to be a great feature. Unlike many of my other jackets, they were loose and stretchy, which meant they didn't tug uncomfortably on my hands. Throughout my outdoor activities, I could easily use the thumbhole cuffs to keep my wrists covered and prevent snow and cold air from reaching inside my gloves.
Packability:
When hiking at Mt. Rainier National Park with the Venustas Womens Heated Jacket I was able to stuff the jacket into my day hiking backpack with no problem after the temperature warmed up throughout the day. However, it's worth noting that this jacket leans towards the bulkier and heavier side, making it less suitable for backpacking trips where space and weight are critical. Nonetheless, it remains sufficiently packable for day trips or typical vacation travel to colder destinations.

Best Uses:
This versatile heated jacket is fantastic for a wide range of activities. Making it an awesome go-to choice for day hikes, travel, camping trips, and casual morning walks. It provides reliable warmth and comfort. It's also perfect for leisurely snowshoeing outings, and keeping cozy while watching sports events from bleachers. Additionally, it's a practical option for fishing excursions, ensuring warmth while spending time on a boat. Perfect for daily commutes. This is a stylish and very functional jacket. While this jacket excels in skiing and snowboarding on crisp, clear, dry days, it's also suitable for cold weather that's not extreme. Best suited for low-impact activities and non-extreme conditions, I would not recommend it for use in wet, stormy weather. However, it's the ideal companion for crisp, cool days and snow-stomping adventures when the skies are clear. Definitely a fantastic jacket to have.

Sizing:
After consulting the sizing chart, I opted for the XL size to ensure a loose fit, allowing me to layer underneath and have a good range of movement during hiking, snowshoeing, and snowboarding trips. In my experience, the size chart proved to be accurate and reliable.
Pockets:
A feature of this Venustas Women’s Heated FELLEX® Hooded Puffer Jacket 7.4V that I absolutely loved was its pockets. A constant complaint I have with many products is that the pockets are too small. Not with this jacket! I found the pockets were capable of holding my phone, wallet, keys, chapstick, sunglasses, and my hands with room to spare. They are soft and stretchy with a nice warm fabric and I felt like I had plenty of room for everything. In addition to the two side pockets inside the jacket is a bonus chest pocket that can easily fit my phone keeping it safe from the snow. I like that there are zippers on all the pockets so I can zip it closed and not have to worry about stuff falling out.
Besides the roominess of the pockets, what I truly liked best about them was how I could stick my cold hands in them and feel the warmth from the heating elements of the jacket. It was like having a hand warmer built into the jacket. I often found myself walking with my hands in my jacket pockets to keep them nice and warm when outside.
The Hood Of The Jacket:
Let's talk about the hood of the Venustas Women’s Heated FELLEX® Hooded Puffer Jacket 7.4V—an aspect that truly stood out for me. I adored the soft and cozy material, which made wearing the hood on the heated jacket really nice. I liked that it was generously sized, allowing me to effortlessly slide it up whenever necessary. Unlike some hoods that feel tight or get snagged on my hair or clothing, this one was a breeze to maneuver. Whether it's snowing or lightly raining, having the option to quickly pull up the hood for extra protection against the elements was a fantastic feature.
How Does The Venustas Women’s Heated Jacket Work?
Heating System & Battery
The Venustas Women’s Heated FELLEX® Hooded Puffer Jacket 7.4V uses 6 carbon fiber heating elements sewn into the jacket to provide warmth throughout the jacket. Located over the left and right chest area of the jacket over the left and right pockets and over the upper back and waist. These carbon fiber heating elements work with the portable battery to provide heat for up to 8 hours of continuous use. After charging up the battery you just plug it into the jacket and slip the battery into the holding pocket on the lower left side of the heated jacket.
Charging up the battery to full capacity takes 4 hours so it is a good idea to charge it up at night the day before you go to use it. It seems to hold a charge for a long time. I have been charging mine up once a week. If I know I am going on an extended trip with it to the mountains on a hiking or snowshoeing adventure I charge it up the night before I go.
Operating The Jacket
The Venustas Heated Jacket is really simple to operate. You just press and hold the button up on the left side of the collar for about 3-5 seconds to turn it on. You'll start feeling that cozy warmth from this heated jacket in about 30 seconds of it being on. I was really impressed at how quickly I was feeling the warmth from this heated jacket.
After 5 minutes of the Women’s Heated FELLEX® Hooded Puffer Jacket 7.4V preheating where the LED light in the button is blinking red, the jacket kicks into medium heat mode automatically. In medium heat mode, the LED in the button is illuminated white.
